Easy Search Engine Optimization?

Is there such a thing? Well many, many website pages will tell you that you do not need to know any information, all you have to do is pay the 'big bucks' and they will get your website ranked at the top of the search engines. AND if you believe all those 'claims' I have a bridge to sell you BUT it is not cheap :)

Ok, let's get down to some basics here... SEO is not something you easily learn overnight, nor is it something that you can throw money at that will really work for you - IF - you want to make sure you are doing SEO legitimately. What does that mean?

There is:

White Hat (follows all the guidelines, terms, and conditions set forth by the search engines)

Gray Hat (follows the rules with a twist)

Black Hat (doesn't follow the search engines' rules - and buyer beware!!)

Optimize sites for competitive keywords, keyword phrases, not just in meta tags, but also in content, and succeed. And they succeed without resorting to spam tactics.

Gray Hat

Optimizing sites but walking a fine line (though some report that Gray Hat is in fact Black Hat that are using techniques to achieve a white hat result)

- not quite keyword stuffing, but so close- not invisible text, but so far down on a page and the text is so light you may not see it

Black Hat

Optimization consists of techniques used to get higher search rankings that are illegal, unethical and clearly outside of the search engine guidelines.

- Keyword Stuffing
- Invisible text
