What Can I Say?!

Moi has not been keeping up this blog - sorry :(

I promise to bring my 'rants' to you on a more frequent basis.

One I can tell you that just irked me is a personal type issue. Did you know that if you want a surgery record (yes you can request it) that you have to sign off saying that any information you receive you "release" the hospital and any employees of any claims that may arise from the record?

So.. you request the record because you have a question about something that happened at the hospital, but in order to get that record you have to accept that whatever they did you can't do anything about. So, for example, you get the hospital record and it says 'oops took out the wrong kidney' you can't in fact do anything because you had to "sign off" in order to get the record.

Anyone else out there see the bizarre in this?

Yes Trees Are Important But What About People?

I live in Vancouver BC Canada. As most people know we have had major storms in the last month or so that has caused extensive damage to homes, cars, roads, trees and parks. Of course the big news story has been the major destruction of Stanley Park.

I am with everyone else on wanting our parks to be beautiful and a place where we can go to walk, bike ride, roller blade, etc. And I am all for raising funds to rebuild the park BUT... BUT...

I am shocked and appalled by the lack of concern for the homeless people during these storms and the lack of response in doing anything to try and help them.

Now don't get me wrong, I am all for restoration. BUT...

In the effort to rebuild Stanley Park there has been over 2 million dollars raised - more with government contribution. Not only has there not been a dime raised to help the homeless during this time, but no one, to my knowledge, has done a drive to raise funds to help the homeless - or - even thought of using the down trees from Stanley Park to perhaps build homes for the homeless. I haven't even seen an articles in any of our papers to address the homeless issue during this time (yes a few comments in "Letters To The Editor").

Forgive me BUT do you not think that people are way more important that trees?

Ok, so a high percentage of the population may say that 'the homeless people' just need to get a job and they wouldn't be homeless. If the majority looked at their cheque book/balance sheet they would see that they are probably one-two-if lucky a few more paychecks away from being on the street themselves.

Back to the subject. If people in this province can raise money to rebuild a park. If the government can contribute money to rebuild a park, then surely to God they can raise at least equal to that amount of money to help the homeless.

I am going to shout this from the roof tops. Want to see the responses? Watch - nothing will happen. IF you are shocked and appalled too - contact me at and let's get something set-up to help our homeless!

Exotic Dancer Program

So did any of you watch the news tonight about the 'Exotic Dancer Program'?

Well the Canadian government has this program that is a visa to foreign exotic dancers because, apparently, there is a lack of them in Canada. Yep, you heard me right!

They also had an 'exotic dancer', a Canadian 'exotic dancer' on the news program who said that the reason this is happen is because the Canadian exotic dancers are not prepared to be 'more than lap dancers...in her words "prostitutes". So, our government, in its wisdom, has decided to bring women in from other countries 'because these businesses have to be able to make a living'. Give me a break!

So...making a living means that the government has a SPECIAL immigration law for 'exotic dancers' because they are prepared to do more than lap dance. Can anyone say Prostitution Paid By The Government.

And we all wondered where our tax dollars went!!!

If you still see me up in the next few days I will be surprised.
